Building Rental

First Congregational UCC is a large building in the center of West Springfield with many spaces available for rent. Parking is nearby and plentiful.

Varieties of Space:

The sanctuary can comfortably seat 300 people and is sought by musicians because of its excellent acoustics, our Steinway grand piano, and our pipe organ. The wood work and stained glass make our sanctuary a beautiful setting for weddings and solemn rituals.

One large hall (with stage) accomodates seated dinner guests up to 120. Adjacent is a large kitchen.

A medium hall (with stage) accomodates 80 seated auditorium style, about 40 at tables, and has an adjacent small kitchen.

An intimate chapel seats 65.

There are also numerous meeting rooms and classrooms, including a "parlor" (The Guild Room).

St. Stephen's Orthodox Church worships at First Church on Sundays at 11:30.

Weddings at First Church

We are delighted when couples choose to contact First UCC about an upcoming wedding!

First UCC does not rent the sanctuary for weddings. If you and your fiancé are looking for a church family, however, a place where you will worship routinely before and after your wedding day, then you have found a wonderful church. We do not require that you become a member of the church. We do ask that you get to know this community of faith, and become a part of the church community.

When you do this, you respect that churches are not like fast-food establishments. We are not a business. We are a covenant community of faith, desiring to nurture our relationship with God in Christ by making disciples and sharing the love!

Should you decide to explore the nature of the community at First UCC, then we would be delighted to talk with you about your upcoming wedding and marriage. In addition to a meeting with you and your fiancé to plan the ceremony, you are required to attend two pre-marital counseling sessions with the Pastor-Teacher of First UCC. There are fees for the use of the sanctuary, and to compensate the work of the custodian, the musician, and the Pastor. Our Office Administrator will be in touch with you about the various fees after you first contact the church office.

We suggest you visit First UCC a couple of times, and see if it's the sort of faith community with which you would like to be a part. (You can also visit us on Facebook)
